  • Project Description:The lighting design for Sapporo Sushi and Teppan Yaki is a creative composition that features layers of colored light and architectural surface enhancements. Fluorescent strips containing GE F17T8/SP41 lamps with blue gel sleeves uplight the ceiling, creating a cool color contrast to the warmer halogen and xenon lighting. GE 50-watt narrow spot, 42-watt very narrow spot and 35-watt spot ConstantColor® Precise™ lamps in small aperture fixtures accent the tables and other interior elements without glare. A dimming system is used to create atmosphere, reduce energy consumption and extend lamp life.
Custom torchieres, fitted with 3500K neon, create a luminous centerpiece and frame the staircase leading to the glowing sushi bar. The bar top glows, illuminated by end-lit fiber optic channels with a 150-watt metal halide lamp. The blue backdrop for the aquarium is backlit with GE F32T8/SP41 lamps, creating visual depth to the tank. Two zones of fiber optic bundles are inserted into frosted glass features inside the aquarium. The jellyfish are accented with 42-watt Precise lamps fitted with orange dichroic lenses.
