Establishing the lighting Program

  • Assemble CDL project team and primary contact
  • Meet with client and design team to discuss lighting goals
  • Identify the specific program requirements
  • Consider possible equipment specifications

Schematic and Design Development

  • Prepare conceptual lighting plans
  • Present to client and team for feedback
  • Revise concept and develop details
  • Develop budget for execution of design
  • Consider equipment availability, quality and scheduling
  • Present final design and budget to client and design team for approval

Construction Documentation

  • Prepare all plans and details in AutoCAD format
  • Prepare specifications for all lighting and control systems (if applicable)
  • Prepare and execute final schedule for production of all work
  • Present final documentation to client and design team for approval

Contract Administration

  • Assist client, architect, interior designer, and general contractor in obtaining and evaluating bids
  • Review all shop drawings for conformance to design intent
  • Visit jobsite to coordinate initial installation with electrical contractor
  • Continue jobsite visits to ensure proper location and installation of specialty lighting (cabinetry, coves, niches, water features, and special architectural detailed areas as required)
  • Prepare punch list once installation is complete

Final Aim and Focus

  • Travel to jobsite with technical crew for final adjustment of all lighting fixtures utilizing special lens, louvers, and lamps to create the drama and effect intended of the lighting system. Making the interior and/or exterior come alive and accomplishing the desired effect expected by clients
  • Final programing of the lighting control system to desired lifestyle usage of clients
